Do you offer coordination services?
Yes. Please inquire for details about our services.
I am very interested
in having Kauai Cuisine cater my event. What is the
next step?
Fill out the inquiry form and it will be emailed directly to us. Then, you need to pick out a menu (we can help!). Once your menu is chosen, we can do a cost estimate for you. You can also call us or email us with your questions.
How can I make sure that no one else books
my date?
We require a signed contract and a 50% deposit to hold a date.
What do your employees wear the day of the
event?
Our chefs/cooks wear black pants, chef jackets, and black shoes. Our servers and bartenders wear black slacks, white button-down dress shirts, black shoes, and black aprons. Our staff is always dressed professionally.
What makes Kauai Cuisine different than other
catering companies?
We use the highest-quality products available. We often fly in specialty items from various farmers and purveyors from other islands to assure superior quality. We use only the best purveyors of all products, from meat, to seafood, to produce. We cook nearly everything on-site. We bring portable burners and grills to cook all the meat and seafood at the event, to ensure that the food being served is at its best.
Do you provide linen, tables, chairs, tents?
No. But we can refer you to a tent company that can. Here are two companies that we recommend:
My event is outdoors. I really want to have
my event in the open air. Do I really need a tent?
YES! In Kauai, the weather can change in 5 minutes.
It can rain in the summer, winter, spring or fall.
And even if it is only a 5-minute passing shower,
it will ruin your event by soaking your tables, linens
and centerpieces. Having a tent is like having an
insurance policy for your event.
Is glassware included?
Water glasses are included in the per person price.
Bar, wine and champagne glasses are additional.
Is everything served on China?
We serve all sit-down courses on china. We serve passed appetizers with cocktail napkin. We can provide additional china for an additional cost.
Will the per person cost change if my head
count drops by a lot?
Yes. If your cost estimate was based on a certain number of people, and that number changes drastically, the per person amount will be higher to cover labor costs.
I signed a contract and already gave a deposit.
Can I still change my menu?
As long as it is enough time before the wedding, yes (at least 3 weeks). Even if you sign a contract and give us a deposit, you are not locked into the menu you choose. We are happy to make changes along the way.
Why do you require a catering tent for outdoor
functions?
We need to have space away from your tent in to prepare the food, and to bring dirty dishes.
Do you offer a traditional buffet?
No, due to the intricacy of Kauai Cuisine’s entrees, we don’t offer a traditional buffet line. If you are interested in this option, our restaurant, Kauai Pasta, might be the best choice for your event. Kauai Pasta features homemade Italian food; all our sauces and dressings are made from scratch daily. This style of food is more suitable for a traditional buffet. Large catering orders may be picked up or delivered. Catering items and staffing are also available. Please inquire for more details. .
Do you do Action Stations?
Yes! Action stations are especially great for large parties, with guests of 75 and over (you may also do them for less). With Action Stations, you get the same great presentation as a sit-down dinner, with a more casual, relaxed atmosphere. Please inquire for more details.
Can I offer entrée choices for a sit-down
dinner?
Yes, but we will require a seating chart of which guests are having which entrée. And you would need to ask their entrée choices on the invitations, and give us a final count at least 21 days prior to the event. Again, we highly recommend a combination plate! Guests are able to enjoy 2 different entrees plated and presented beautifully!
Can I buy the alcohol, beverages and mixers from Kauai Cuisine?
Yes! For ease and convenience, you may purchase everything from us. We have an extensive list of wine, champagne, beer, hard alcohol and other beverages available for purchase. Let Kauai Cuisine handle all your bar needs!
Can I still bring my own alcohol?
Yes. You are not required to buy the alcohol from us. If you do choose to bring your own, you will be responsible for determining amounts needed, and if you run out of anything, Kauai Cuisine will not be held responsible. If the client supplies their own beverages, they are required to bring them directly to the bar 2 hours prior to the event, and to transport them at the end of the night. We do not charge additional fees if you supply your own drinks, besides the bar set-up and bartender fees.
Do you make cakes?
No, but we do offer some great plated desserts. We also do several mini passed desserts, which are great at the end of the night! For cakes, we recommend:

You offer Tropical Signature Drinks. Am I required to purchase these? Can I still bring my own mixers?
No, you don’t have to purchase our tropical drink mixers. We just offer these as a fun, tasty option. You can still bring all your own bar mixers. And remember, they don’t include the alcohol.
Who should I provide vendor meals for?
That is totally up to your discretion. We offer vendor meals at a lower price than your per person amount. Typically, you might want to provide dinner for the wedding coordinator, photographer, DJ, band members, or other vendors working at your event. Many people like to provide dinner for those that will be there for a long amount of time, and won’t be able to eat dinner otherwise.
I will have children at my event. What options
do I have for them?
We suggest ordering pizza for them! We are happy to do this for you. We will pick it up, keep it warm, and serve it for you. This makes most kids the happiest! If you don’t like this option, we can discuss other children’s menu items.
